Lithium molecular sieve

Lithium molecular sieve (Li-MS) is a specialized adsorbent critical for oxygen purification in pressure swing adsorption (PSA) systems.

Lithium molecular sieve operates on the kinetic diameter selectivity of gas molecules:

Pore Structure: The sieve's uniform micropores (~3.6 A) preferentially adsorb nitrogen (N₂, 3.64 A) while allowing oxygen (O₂, 3.46 A) to pass through due to its smaller size.
PSA Process: During adsorption cycles, N₂ is trapped, enriching O₂ in the effluent gas. The sieve regenerates by reducing pressure (desorption), enabling continuous oxygen production.
