Material Composition:Typically made from alumina (Al2O3), silicon carbide (SiC), or zirconia (ZrO2), offering:Thermal shock resistance: Withstands rapid temperature changes (e.g., immersion in molten aluminum at 700–800°C).
Corrosion resistance: Inert to molten aluminum and its alloys.
Filtration Mechanism:3D reticulated foam structure (10–80 pores per inch, PPI) traps inclusions (oxides, carbides) while allowing laminar flow to reduce turbulence and gas entrapment.
