Our high-quality HDPE MBBR bio media is specially engineered for efficient nitrification and denitrification in wastewater and sewage treatment systems. Made of virgin high-density polyethylene, it offers excellent chemical stability, corrosion resistance, anti-aging properties and long service life, ensuring stable performance in various harsh water conditions.
 
With a unique three-dimensional structure, this media provides a large specific surface area for nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria to attach and multiply rapidly. It effectively converts ammonia nitrogen into nitrite and nitrate, then further reduces nitrate to nitrogen gas, achieving high-efficient total nitrogen removal.
 
The media features ideal density for uniform suspension and good fluidity under aeration, avoiding clogging and agglomeration. It is widely applied in municipal sewage, industrial wastewater, aquaculture systems and upgrading projects. Easy to install and maintain, it significantly improves treatment efficiency, ensures stable effluent quality and meets strict nitrogen discharge standards.

Working Process

The MBBR system utilizes HDPE biofilm carriers that remain suspended and fluidized in the reactor via aeration. As wastewater passes through, microorganisms on the carrier biofilms efficiently remove organic pollutants, ammonia nitrogen, and other contaminants through simultaneous aerobic degradation and nitrification/denitrification. Featuring no clogging, simple operation, low energy consumption, and reusable media, MBBR is widely adopted for municipal sewage, industrial effluent (food processing, textile, petrochemical), and aquaculture water purification systems.
